Back to...

Summer's been so awesome, I don't want to even think of back to school shopping. Usually there's always some positive thing associated with school in September. This year, I don't want summer to be over! I guess I'm excited to see my classes and teachers, and all my friends (of course). But I also hate to leave the freedom of summer. Which is silly, because coming back to school is inevitable. I mean, life can't be one long summer break (unless you're a rock star, and still...).

We went clothes shopping yesterday, and it was quite successful. I got a pair of jean capri's, one pair of jeans, a striped shirt (although there are a lot of them nowadays), two pairs of leggings-one polka dot and one brown (Hey, they were super cute and there was a sale), one pair of really cute (but small) flats with rainbow sequins (god bless Winners), and a pair of pretty cheap multicoloured converse. This was all very fun, but reminded me school's coming around the corner. I am having some trouble accepting that I have only a couple weeks of summer ahead of me. I'm also having trouble accepting that Sounds Like Canada (in the summer) will be over soon, and I have less than a week to finish Ulysses. But I'm pretty sure I can. I have about 230 pages to go. I think I'll do it. Maybe even I can finish it on Monday. You never know.

Speaking of Ulysses, I have some more Ulysses related pictures for everyone. "Ulysses by the Poolside".

I'm thinking of getting a part-time job for the rest of the summer, and after school. I'm thinking of working at a coffee shop, but if anyone has any ideas, let me know.

I know that Tim Horton's is always hiring, as half the kids at Eva's school worked there last year, but I guess the working conditions are pretty bad, so be careful. And you have to wear those pleated pants which look good on nobody!
But there are certainly lots of job available.
Your new clothes sound fun. Eva got some polka dot leggings as well - they really perk up a wardrobe.
And SLC will still be on, except Sheelagh Rogers will be back as the host!

Yeah, I know a couple kids who work at Tim's. Amazingly though, there's not one Tim Horton's close to me. Thankfully, there's a lot of little business' in my neighbourhood.
Polka dot leggings are awesome! They have this little lace ring around the bottom too. It's like super cute. (Shut me up before I get into my shopping mode where I call every thing "cute" for lack of a better word).

I know... but I'll be at school for it! And although Sheilagh is fine, I will still miss Jian.

If rumours come true Jian will be doing The National Playlist again on CBC radio one. Not sure what time or what days though...

I've heard that Barbara...
If it does come back, I really hope he'll do it after 4pm or something or even early in the morning.

Go for the coffee shop. Those places rock. As long as it's not a Starbucks. I will never forgive you if you get a job there... But you're cooler than that. ; )

I would listen to SLC during the year, except I'll be at school for the whole time it broadcasts. I'm in class from 8 to 3:30, and that includes Halifax at 9 to Vancouver at 1. =(

Re: National Playlist: *crosses every available appendage* PLEASE let TNP be on at, like, 5pm weekdays...

Last go round of NP, they would have the recap on Saturday nights (or was that 50 Tracks?). You miss some stuff, but get the gist of it.

Aww Ariel, but the Starbucks people look so happy! I bet you have to be 16 to work there, though.

8-3:30? That seems unusually long. Our school does 9-3:30, but our lunches are less than a half hour.

5pm would be awesome.

I suppose recaps are nice Barbara B., but you don't get the juiciness of conversation. I loved the national playlists I heard (when I had pneumonia).
