My mum brought me this photocopied section of the Calgary "Career Show" brochure home. This is enough to pretty much convince me Strombo will be at the show. It's very odd that they didn't put this on their website...
Anyways. I haven't posted in a while, sorry. I have no excuses. Yesterday my mum and I went to the film fest (with the tickets she won off CBC). Volver was sold out, so we went to a comedy/shorts thing, which was pretty funny.

Argghh! We never made it to the Film Fest this year. I knew there was something I forgot to do! I've seen some of my favourite films there too.
I know, it seems really weird to me. To be honest, the only reason I would ever go to a career show at the roundup theatre is because of someone like George.
Did you see that film about Joe Strummer, a couple years ago? Um.. Let's Rock Again! When he's selling his concert with the flyers and stuff, and saying "I'm Joe Strummer, I used to be in a little band called The Clash". It was fun, but it made me very sad, too. I love the film fest, I like going to the Uptown, Globe and Plaza anyways, they are so fun.
That is one scary picture of him...lol. He actually does a lot things like that but they aren't promoted for various reasons I think.
Glad you enjoy the film festival. Its been a couple weeks since I've seen a theatre movie...I'm out of the loop.
Let's Rock Again was actually one of the films I was referring to as a favourite! You're right, it was so funny and so sad. And the segment where he was trying to get into that radio station for an interview, that was very poignant as well.
Yah, that picture has never been my favourite. It looks even scarier after being photocopied a bazillion times. Yes he does, he's been to Calgary a couple times before and spoke. I've heard of him at career-ish type functions also. It was quite fun. I love going out to see movies, doesn't happen too often. We have a theatre in the neighbourhood that's cheap and easy to walk to.
It was great, wasn't it? The part at the radio station was on of the more memorable moments for me also, when they play Johnny Appleseed and he's sitting in the studio and says something like "This is a toe-tapper", for some reason that stuck in my head.
