If This Is FO-SHO I'm Really Excited...

So my mum is going to a career fair, for her work. This is from October 27-28. She just phoned me about this, and said that her brochure advertised one of the main presenters as being a Mr. George Stroumboulopoulos, someone you are all probably very familiar with. I'm hoping she read this right... and maybe Strombo's coming to Calgary... if it's true I doubt he'd bring the Hour with him... Cause it's on a Saturday. My mum read me the brochure on the phone, it sounded like he was going to be at the career fair. I'm not getting all riled up, cause this could be a misread, I mean it doesn't say anything about it on the career show site (http://www.thecareershow.ca). But if it's true, it would be very awesome. I get free tickets cause my mum's there too. I definitely can't confirm this, can anyone else?

Update:

The 2006 Seminars list is coming soon, so my mum's brochure could be hot off the press, or it could be something for insiders. I'm not sure, but there still is hope.

Haha, I don't even think our highschool has career fairs...

Well, we did have one during showcase one night, with about 5 booths and I stole the little peppermint paddies from all of them. Plus I got a whole bunch of Canadian Armed Forces stationary, and talked to the nice crew-cutted man there.

Ooooh. I'm hoping this is true.

I haven't heard anything about this either, but he does do a lot of stuff on the side, of course. A career fair strikes me as a little unusual but he could be a speaker, talking about the biz.

Thanks for spreading the word. That's pretty cool.

Yeah, he's been to Calgary a couple times before, "speaking". I'm gonna have to read my mum's brochure when she gets back from Edmonton. Maybe I should scan it. You guys can analyze it or something. I'll let you know if I can confirm what's happening though. btw., if he is coming to Calgary tickets for the fair are 5$ I believe... It's like a big thing at the roundup centre with millions of booths and talky-people and stuff.

i hope it's true and that you'll be able to see him.. but I think it is true, it's not the first time that I hear that he does that kind of stuff (he went to orientation weeks in ontario's universities about jobs).

You're right Evelyne, he was at a local college a couple years back and when I saw him at the library he talked a bit about his career, etc. It seems he does a lot of this stuff.

Awwww, I hope he does go there, that would be so great! Can you feel my jealousy from over here?? :P I've never met him before, that would be so pro of you could see him again, FOR FREE! :)

Keep us informed Hilary, I want the whole scoop!

George really should come to Winnipeg. It's smack dab in the middle of our nice country. I'm hoping that my mum's mythical brochure is right. Haven't seen it yet, cause she left it at her office. But it would be so exciting for him to come!
